How to Submit an IMC NCR Consultant Directory Profile

Please submit your profile in either ASCII text, as a Word document or in html in the following format. We are trying to get all profiles as a 1-page limit, so limit your narrative to about 200 words if possible. Email it as an attachment to Mark Haas (it is usually posted the same day).

Also, you may want to include the following options:

  • Headshot photo (preferable less than 15K for faster loading and roughly 125w by 190h pixels. We can reduce size or reformat if needed, or scan in a film photo if necessary). Send as a separate file.

  • List of keywords - up to 15-20 relevant, differentiating words or phrases (enclose phrases in single quotes), to be put in a keywords metatag.

  • A 400 character description to be returned from searches of the Consultant Directory that will differentiate you from other IMC NCR profiles. Without this (placed in a description metatag), directory searches will return the search term as found in your profile along with the preceding and following text. This does not always provide a coherent (or pretty) description of your services (see end of this page).

Description Metatag

The site search engine targets one of slices - the overall site or just the consultant directory. The search returns a description metatag for the page, if one exists. Without the metatag, the search returns the search term target and surrounding text. This usually does not provide a very clear picture of your practice, especially compared to other member profiles who do have a profile. To increase the likelihood that searchers will at least give your profile a good look, provide a 400 character description (a mini elevator speech if you will).

A directory search for "strategy" returned the following profile without a metatag:

IMC NCR Consultant Directory - XXXXXXX ...   Industries: All Sectors:   Public (including states, counties, cities, territories and Native American tribes), private non-profit, education, higher education. Consulting Specialties : Leadership Development (individual and groups up to 50), Strategic Planning, Human Service System Designing and Implementation Strategies, Marketing Strategies, Public Speaking, Cultural Competence Initiatives, Collaborative Working Arrangements & Creating Learning Communities.   Narrative: We have held ...

The same search produced this profile that contained a description metatag:
