The Speakers
Bureau is a referral service for members to market your skills
and experience to potential clients by speaking to organizations
and business groups. It is a way to market
you
specifically and
IMC NCR
generally by addressing businesses, organizations and government
agencies on management and consulting related topics according
to your area of expertise and your speaking experience and
effectiveness. To submit a speaking topic, please complete a Speakers Bureau
Signup Form (active later in the month).
Guidelines:
-
Any active
member of the IMC NCR Chapter may volunteer for the IMC NCR
Speakers Bureau

IMC NCR will
place special emphasize on recruiting CMCs for the Speakers

speaker and present on a topic that falls within the domain of
the management consulting discipline
-
Speeches
may cover any topic that the IMC member has sufficient
expertise and credibility to deliver. Below are some sample

explain IMC and to motivate the audience to consider IMC NCR
consultants as a source for meeting their management
consulting needs. The paragraph below is an example of
information that may be shared regarding IMC.
-
Speakers
are encouraged to share copies of their presentations with
IMC NCR when appropriate to make it easier to increase the
number of speakers willing and prepared to present.
Speakers
Bureau Procedures:
To get the
program kicked off in October 2002, we are suggesting you
identify a topic on which you have already spoken. For now,
place yourself in one of the categories below for each speaking
topic (you may nominate as many prepared talks as you have
already delivered). We will expand and modify these categories
as more speakers sign up and the list of distinct topics grows.
The IMC NCR
Speakers Bureau chair will maintain a list of speakers and
develop a list of potential organizations interested in hearing
a speaker. It will be the collective responsibility of the
chapter membership to build the list of organizations as well as
speaker volunteers. In other words, when you see an opportunity
to suggest a speaker, do so for the benefit of your member
colleagues.
The chair
will match a requesting organization with an appropriate speaker
from the list of volunteers and confirm the speaking engagement.
Speakers
will be given as much notice as possible but at least thirty
days notice unless there is a good reason and the volunteer has
no problem with a shorter notification period.
Speakers
will be given the following information:
-
Organization
-
Objective
of the organization for requesting a speaker
-
Time
allotted for the speech
-
Date and
location
-
Point of
contact from the requesting organization
After the
speaking engagement, IMC NCR will ask organizations to provide an
evaluation of the speaker's effectiveness, to be used in
assigning speakers to future engagements.
To submit a topic, complete the
Speakers Bureau
Signup Form.
