Ethics Organization in Focus
The Ethics
Resource Center, based in Washington, DC,
"nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization whose
vision is an ethical world. The mission of the
Ethics Resource Center is to be a leader and a catalyst
in fostering ethical practices in individuals and
institutions." ERC's work on character education and its
published surveys on ethics programs and activities are
highly regarded.
Ethics Resources
Once ethics programs have been set up, many
organizations find managing a confidential, effective
reporting a challenge. One service created to make this
easier is
Ethicspoint, a worldwide, confidential, anonymous
and secure web-based reporting tool that enables
employees and management to work together in identifying
improper behavior, address questions or concerns, and
submit positive suggestions.
Creating a Code of Ethics For Your Organization
Chris MacDonald has created a useful set of
resources
for organizations looking to enhance their governance
and develop a stronger set of ethics codes and
compliance procedures. This series includes discussion
of the importance of codes, a bibliography, sample
codes, and about 20 articles about ethics.
IMC USA Code of Ethics
The IMC mission, to promote excellence and ethics in
management consulting, is supported by a strict
Code of Ethics and new training and compliance
protocols. These are all aimed at increasing the
capacity of IMC member consultants to appreciate the
nuances of responsible professional conduct for their
own behavior and that of their clients.
